Warren Byrne

Warren Byrne founded the Foresight Companies and brings over 20 years of energy industry experience, including positions with Caithness Energy, Booz, Allen & Hamilton’s Utilities Group, and Environmental Defense. Under Warren’s leadership, Foresight Solar has four power purchase agreements and a pipeline of nearly 350 photovoltaic projects, and sister-company Foresight Wind Energy developed a 100 MW wind project in commercial operation and over 2,000 MW in various stages of development. Mr. Byrne holds a BA with honors in Liberal Studies from the University of California in Santa Barbara, and a Master’s of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies where he was awarded the Switzer Environmental Leader Fellowship.

Carlos Pineda

Mr. Pineda is a veteran developer of wind, solar, energy storage, LNG, and natural gas projects. Mr. Pineda played a lead role in the development or financing of over 900MW (US$1.9 billion) of operating assets, and managed the development or acquisition of over 2 GW more. Mr. Pineda also advises private equity clients on the acquisition and development of large portfolios of energy assets. Mr. Pineda has held senior positions at General Compression, Inc., Orion Energy, LLC, and The AES Corporation. Mr. Pineda holds a MBA in Finance from the Yale School of Management, a Master’s of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, and a Bachelor’s in Human Biology with Honors in Latin American Studies from Stanford University. Mr. Pineda was a Dean’s Scholar at the Yale School of Management.

Douglass Sims

As a senior project finance lawyer at leading international law firm Allen & Overy LLP, Mr. Sims represented sponsors and lenders on power and infrastructure projects and played a leading role in analyzing and/or negotiating over 2,000 MWs of power purchase agreements. He now brings to FRS deep experience in a variety of transactions including, project financings, acquisitions, term and revolving credit facilities (unsecured and secured), private placements, export credit agency and multi-lateral bank backed financings and leveraged financings. Mr. Sims holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Stanford University where he was a Mellon Fellow. He is a member of the Bar of the State of New York.

Brad Smith

Brad Smith joined Foresight in 2006, bringing project management, operations and account management experience from the banking and commercial sectors. Mr. Smith leads Foresight’s efforts to acquire land positions for solar projects throughout the United States. He works closely with landowners and other stakeholders to ensure viable locations for Foresight’s rapidly expanding portfolio of projects. Mr. Smith has a BA in Environmental and Resource Economics with minors in International Commerce and Mathematics from Kalamazoo College, Michigan.
